Good Neighbours Scheme
The Tattingstone Good Neighbour's Scheme primarily exists to assist villagers of all ages in Tattingstone, to get to places where they would otherwise have difficulty getting to due to lack of transport or mobility issues.
The volunteers who participate in the scheme are all DBS checked. They help with shopping, the collection of prescriptions, minor domestic repairs, help with pets, filling in forms or can just pop in for a cuppa and a chat.
The service is provided free but there is a charge of 45p per mile (calculated on the round trip) to cover costs of petrol etc for the driver.
There is also a weekly 'Drop in' at the village hall on Thursday mornings. It's very popular as it provides an opportunity for villagers of all ages to meet informally for a chat and a cuppa. You can find out more by visiting the Suffolk Good Neighbours website.
